The Northamptonshire Churches New Communities Programme
In 2005, Northamptonshire Church Leaders responded to the government's Milton Keyes and South Midlands Plan - the initiative for building 100,000 new homes in Northamptonshire between 2001 and 2021 - by establishing the Northamptonshire New Communities Project and appointed a Churches Officer for New Communities, supported by an Ecumenical Steering Group.
Ecumenical planning between the churches is coordinated by the Churches New Communities Strategic Planning Group which meets quarterly.

arising from the growth in Northamptonshire -

Those who will move into the county,
Our existing communities - our towns and villages,
Those involved as planners and developers and builders,
Our local Councillors and Members of Parliament.
