CROPS Schools Mentoring Opportunities

Would you like to make a difference to young people who are having a difficult time and need someone to talk to? The Mental Health Foundation report that 1 in 10 secondary students feel they have no one feel they can talk to if they were worried or upset in school.
CROPS Mentoring recruits, trains and supervises volunteer mentors from local churches to help young people in Peterborough Secondary schools who are going through difficult periods of their lives.
Our mentors meet with the students once a week, each week in their school to be a role model, listening ear and offer some simple strategies with the issues they face.
You will be given all the training, ongoing support and supervision that is needed. This role can be a minimum of 1 hour per week. You don’t have to be an expert; a heart for young people and availability to listen are what is needed.
We want our local schools to know that people from Peterborough’s local churches care about the lives of young people who are struggling, and even more, they are prepared to help by practically doing something about it.
